Completing the vision of Troy Christian Schools with the
Performing Arts Center
The new Performing Arts Center is made possible with a significant and lead matching gift from longtime Troy community residents and supporters, and Troy Christian Schools' parents, Dave and Linda Arbogast. "We are excited to see this new center bring added value to the schools an greater Troy area with enhanced programs in performing and visual arts as well as a dynamic venue filled with numerous opportunities to learn, gather, and enjoy," said Dave and Linda Arbogast.
The Goal and your support!
The total campaign fundraising goal for the new Performing Art Center is approximately $5 million. The rest of the community is invited to join in this tremendous fundraising effort that will complete the Troy Christian Schools' campus and have a positive impact on students and the greater Troy community for decades to come.
Students of all ages benefit from the confidence, social skills, and discipline that result from participating in the performing arts.
Whether on stage or behind the scenes, performing arts give a platform for learning, exploring, and transforming the heart into experiencing the limitless possibilities of positive expression.
The addition of a comprehensive perfoming arts center at Troy Christian Schools will create a complete campus - a well-rounded education from preschool to high school - offering superior academic, athletic, and spiritual curriculums that will now be accompanied by the exciting opportunity to expand and offer high-quality performing arts along with new programs for students as well as the greater Troy community.
Here's a closer look at the benefits of the new Performing Arts Center...
As Phase III of the Troy Christian Schools Enlarge the Tent Campaign, the new 39,000-square-foot Performing Arts Center (PAC) will be built near the elementary playground. It will encompass a 1,200-seat auditorium for all-school assemblies as well as much needed space for expanding and developing talents with first-rate performing and visual arts programs. The new PAC also will provide space for chapels, a venue for special community events, and classroom space to partner with local businesses and universities to help students practice leadership skills and gain access to programs that will prepare them for college, career readiness, and life skills training.
The new auditorium will provide for the important development of performing and visual arts programs for children of all ages at Troy Christian Schools - from early childhood to grade 12 - with an exciting platform that adds to the excellent curriculum the schools already offer. The auditorium will represent the heart of the schools, showcasing many talents on a professional stage. The space will offer opportunities to add more plays, concerts, and art exhibits as well as exciting internships in sound, lighting, and technology - making Troy Christian Schools a central and exciting place for students to pursue performing and visual arts as an introduction to a career or lifelong passion.
Additionally, auditorium space will be a place for the schools to come together for assemblies, combined chapels, special events, and family gatherings such as Grandparent's Day celebration, Feast Day Chapel, and senior graduation where more than 700 people are in attendance at each event.
event and community space
Troy Christian Schools is a dynamic part of the greater Troy community. The schools represent the inherent value of what makes Troy a great place to live and work, and staff, students, and families are fully committed to being engaged in supporting the community's ongoing activities. As part of that vital partnership, the new PAC also is designed to become a community staple - offering an added venue for concerts, plays, guest speakers, corporate business meetings/events, weddings, and other community activities that would host groups large and small. It is greatly anticiapted that this affiliation will create a positive community connection and a special place for all to feel welcomed with a variety of immediate opportunities.
With a dedicated chapel space for worship, the PAC will offer all students a meaningful area to continue to transform their hearts and grow spiritually in a place of their own rather than in the gymnasiums where chapel is currently held. The new location will streamline preparation for weekly chapels and special events, thereby increasing staff member efficiency and better use for the present facilities.
